Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) Secretary General Nilendra Raj Shrestha has been free from Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Shrestha was tested positive for Coronavirus conducted in the first week of August. He was informed that he was infected from Coronavirus only on September 25.
Shrestha was living in self-isolation after Coronavirus positive report. Shrestha, who had been in self-isolation for about a week or two, had undergone re-examination of Coronavirus. According to the report received by Shrestha today (Monday), his report has come negative. That is, he is free from Coronavirus.
The report of the re-examination was received today. The report has come out negative. Shrestha said,’ The situation is still normal. There was no sign of infection. ‘
In mid-July, two Olympic staff members were infected and all officials tested for the Coronavirus in the first week of August.
Rakhep had arranged for Coronavirus testing of various players and NOC staff, including the council, in the last week of July. Meanwhile, the reports of two NOC employees were positive. Shortly afterwards, two more people developed corona infections.
NOC has stated that the Coronavirus report of all the employees including General Secretary Shrestha was negative.
NOC has decided to insure of all Olympic athletes against Coronavirus after the staff and officials were affected by the COVID-19. NOC has closed its central office in Satdobato indefinitely following the outbreak of the corona pandemic.
