Oman with a comfortable win against Nepal in friendly

Nepal has suffered a humiliating defeat in a friendly match against a strong team Oman.

Nepal lost to Oman 7-2 in a friendly match in Doha, Qatar on Sunday night.

Abdulaziz Al Muqbali scored two goals for the victory of Oman.

Fami Saud, Mosen Jahar, Issam Al Subhi, Mohsen Al Ghassani and Jamil El Yahmadi scored one goal each.

Ayush Ghalan and Ananta Tamang scored one goal each for Nepal.

Oman took  2-1 lead in the first half and scored a one-sided goal in the second half.

In preparation for the SAAF Championship, Nepal played a friendly match with 90th ranked Oman in the FIFA rankings.

Nepali team is in Qatar to prepare for the SAAF Championship preparation. Nepali team will go to Maldives from Qatar for SAAF Championship.

Head coach Abdullah Almutairi announced the 23-member squad on Sunday.

The match between Nepal and Maldives will be played on October 1 (Ashoj 15) at the National Football Stadium. Nepal will play its second match against Sri Lanka on October 4 (Ashoj 18).

Nepal will play India in the third match on October 10 (Ashoj 24) and Bangladesh in the final match of the league stage on October 13 (Ashoj 27).

The top two teams will compete for the title on October 16 (Ashoj 30) after the league stage of the five-nation tournament.

Nepal has not played a SAAF Championship final yet.
