Real Madrid kept alive their LaLiga title hopes with an emphatic 4-1 win over Granada at Nuevo Estadio de Los Carmenes on Thursday.
The result moved Zinedine Zidane’s side above Barcelona into second, two points behind leaders Atletico Madrid with just two games remaining in the season.
It was 19-year-old Miguel Gutierez, who replaced Marcelo at left back after the Brazilian was axed following a reported bust-up with coach Zinedine Zidane, who set up the first goal with a brilliantly lofted pass into the path of Luka Modric on 17 minutes.
And in injury time of the first half, 20-year-old Marvin Park flicked the ball into space for Rodrgyo Goes to make it 2-0.
Granada pulled a goal back through 38-year-old Jorge Molina on 71 minutes but Madrid’s response was ruthlessly rapid. Just four minutes later Alvaro Odriozola made it 3-1 and when Rui Silva came charging out of his goal Karim Benzema robbed him of the ball and bent his shot from distance into an empty net to make it 4-1.
