Barcelona lose further ground to Real Madrid in LaLiga title race as Saul Niguez equalized

Lionel Messi scored his 700th career goal but it was not enough to give Barcelona a win over Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid as pressure mounts on Nou Camp boss Quique Setien.

Diego Costa had socre an own goal in 11th minute and also he missed a penalty in 16th minute. But after the 5 minutes, Saul Niguez scored a penalty and levelled up the score.

Barcelona regained the lead five minutes after the restart when Messi cheekily chipped home his 700th goal from the penalty spot.

Saul Niguez again scored a penalty in 62nd minute which levelled up the scored.

Barcelona could now end the week four points behind Real Madrid if Zinedine Zidane’s team beat Getafe on Thursday.

Bacelona is on second place in the LaLiga table with 70 points. Athletico Madrid is in third with 59 points. League leader is with 1 game on hand have 71 points.
