German Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has agreed to extend his contract on a new deal with Bayern Munich club running until 2023.
Since joining the club in 2011, the stopper has been voted as the World’s Best Goalkeeper on four different occasions, as well as winning seven Bundesliga titles and lifting the Champions League in 2013.
His most recent contract extension was penned in 2016, but the club have tied him down to an extension, confirming the news on their official website. It will see Neuer remain at the Allianz Arena until 2023.
Oliver Kahn, FC Bayern executive board member, also weighed in on the news, claiming it was always the intention for the club to extend the German’s stay in Bavaria.
Neuer himself expressed his delight at the new deal, insisting that the delay in the news was a result of the impact of coronavirus across the globe.
