Chennai Super Kings to the Final after defeating Delhi Capitals

Chennai Super Kings have reached the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 cricket.

Chennai Super Kings reached the final by defeating Delhi Capitals by 4 wickets in the first qualifier held in Dubai on Sunday night.

Delhi will now play a second qualifier with the winner of the eliminator to reach the final. In the eliminator, Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore will compete.

Chennai completed the target of 173 runs set by Delhi by losing 6 wickets in 19 overs.

Ruturaj Gaikwad top-scored with 70 runs in Chennai’s victory. Similarly, Robin Uthappa played a half-century innings of 63 runs.

Moeen Ali scored 16 runs while skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni added an unbeaten 18 runs.

Delhi’s Tom Curran took 3 wickets. Anrich Nortja and Abhishek Khan took one wicket each.

Earlier, batting first, Delhi lost 5 wickets in 20 overs and scored 172 runs.

Prithvi Shaw played a half-century innings of 60 for Delhi. Similarly, captain Rishav Pant played an unbeaten 51-run half-century innings.

Shimron Hitmeyer added 37 runs while Akshar Patel added 10 runs. Shikhar Dhawan was out for 7 runs.

Jose Hazlewood of Chennai took 2 wickets. Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali and Dwayne Bravo took 1/1 wickets.
