Defeating Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians back to top in a thrilling match

Former champions Mumbai Indians have won the fifth edition of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 cricket in the UAE.

Mumbai Indians beats Nepali leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane affiliated Delhi Capitals by 5 wickets with 2 balls remaining in Abu Dhabi on Sunday night.




Mumbai completed the target of 163 runs set by Delhi at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium by losing 5 wickets in 19 overs and 4 balls.

Similarly, Ishan Kishan added 28 runs while captain Rohit Sharma was dismissed for five runs. Krunal Pandya remained unbeaten on 12 while Kieran Pollard remained unbeaten on 11.

Kagiso Rabada of Delhi took 2 wickets. Akshar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin and Marcus Stoinis took 1/1 wickets each.

Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Delhi lost 4 wickets in 20 overs and scored 162 runs.
Shikhar Dhawan played an unbeaten 69-run half-century for Delhi. Similarly, captain Shreyas Lyer scored 42 runs.

Ajinkya Rahane was out for 15 runs while Marcus Stoinis was out for 13 runs. Alex Carey remained unbeaten on 14 runs.

Mumbai’s Hardik Pandya took 2 wickets and Trent Boult took 1 wicket.

With the victory, Mumbai has risen to the top of the table. Mumbai has added 10 points in 7 games with 5 wins.

This is Delhi’s second defeat. Second-placed Delhi has added 10 points in 7 games.
